I’m a second-year BSc Economics student at University College London, and I’ve been tutoring privately for over two years in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Economics at GCSE and A-Level. I also tutor Chemistry.
I was educated at City of London School, where I finished with ten grade 9s at GCSE and A*s in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Economics. Alongside my exams, I was awarded the Honorary Scholars’ Prize, achieved a Gold Award in the Senior Mathematics Challenge and reached the finalist stage of the John Locke Essay Prize. I also led the school Economics Society, running weekly presentations on current economic events and coordinating a team of student writers for a weekly blog, which taught me a great deal about making complex ideas accessible.
I currently teach a number of students at GCSE and A-Level, in Economics as well as Mathematics and Further Mathematics. Working with students at different stages and abilities has made me comfortable adjusting my approach quickly to what each one needs.
Every lesson I teach is shaped around the individual: their exam board, their existing gaps and the pace that suits them. In Economics especially, I place heavy emphasis on essay structure and evaluation, since that is where most marks are lost, rather than on content recall. I give honest, constructive feedback after each session and adapt as we go.
Outside academics, I have professional experience through internships and insight programmes at Deutsche Bank, PwC, St James’s Place and Fortura. I play cricket at county level, as well as football, basketball and tennis.
I joined Mayfair Scholars to give every student lessons built around them, with honest feedback after each session.
